the wind will take us

In my small night, ah
the wind has a date with the leaves of the trees
in my small night there is agony of destruction
listen
do you hear the darkness blowing?
I look upon this bliss as a stranger
I am addicted to my despair.

listen do you hear the darkness blowing?
something is passing in the night
the moon is restless and red
and over this rooftop
where crumbling is a constant fear
clouds, like a procession of mourners
seem to be waiting for the moment of rain.
a moment
and then nothing
night shudders beyond this window
and the earth winds to a halt
beyond this window
something unknown is watching you and me.

O green from head to foot
place your hands like a burning memory
in my loving hands
give your lips to the caresses
of my loving lips
like the warm perception of being
the wind will take us
the wind will take us.

Destino

Me estoy acostumbrando a la
poca ternura
en la medida que me pospongo
siervo de daños y engaños.
Voy perdiendo morada
en la lentitud repentina
de un destino
que me va quedando escaso.
Conozco mi muerte
su lugar esquivo
su acontecer disperso.
Ahora,
¿qué más podría vencerme?

Yes, I confess that for some years past

Yes, I confess that for some years past
I lacked the zest needed just to live,
except that on my ramblings in the backstreets
I never let myself collapse, but rather
from fields of feeling that were colorless
I swung myself up into the rosy ones, of course
that sounds a bit romantic. Truth to tell,
I became bloated with my zest, knowingly,
and trotted along to find in it myself
when really it was not there, and only
self-enchantment made me young. I never ceased
instructing life to be a help to me,
and all the time it was my projection,
as in a mirror, of any amount of things,
and if there's valor in behaving so
I simply do not know, for all that I tried
not to go down too soon into dejection.
